WELCOME TO THE BEST OF MIDCOAST MAINE!
We hope your visit with us will be relaxing and rewarding, and that you will leave having
experienced some of the beauty and serenity of our area along with the friendliness of the
coastal natives.
In order to help you enjoy your vacation by experiencing some of the coastal pleasures
this area offers, we have included some suggestions of what to do and where to go.
 We recommend that you pick up a copy of The
Lincoln County News. You will find it available at Reilly’s Grocery, Fairwind Marine (formerly Hanna's Garage) and Dee’s Variety stores in New Harbor as well as most stores in Damariscotta. This paper publishes event calendars and local entertainment for the upcoming week.
TRASH/GARBAGE/RECYCLING – Please place your trash at the end of the driveway before 8:30 Saturday morning for trash pick-up, or per other instructions provided in this packet. Please don't worry if it is still out when you depart.
TRANSFER STATION -- Recycling is voluntary in Bristol/South Bristol, we hope you
will help our environment by joining in our recycling efforts. The Transfer Station is
located 1.3 miles north of Olde Bristol Historical Society (near intersection of Harrington Meeting House Road) on Route 130 and is closed only
Wednesdays, Sundays and holidays. No car sticker or other ID is necessary (if asked,
indicate that you are a renter of L. Dewey Chase Rentals). You will find a well-organized
and easy to use transfer station. Returnable bottles can be donated to the Boy Scouts bin
at the transfer station, to the Bristol School 8th Grade Class bin located at the school on Route 130, or the Caring for Kids bin located in Bristol Mills.
GROCERIES IN NEW HARBOR
REILLY’S GROCERY, which is located across from Fairwind Marine (formerly Hanna's Garage) in the center of New Harbor Village, provides newspapers, meats, fresh fish, produce, videos, wine and much more. FYI – Reilly’s Grocery hours are currently 8:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. Their telephone number 207-677-2321.
DEE’S VARIETY on Route 130 (the Gulf Station) stocks beverages and a small
selection of non-perishable grocery items. Dee’s provides a “take out” or “eat in at the
breakfast bar” menu including subs and pizza. They close at 8:00 p.m. daily. Their telephone number 207-677-3900. Week day specials can be found on Facebook.
FAIRWIND MARINE (formerly Hanna's Garage) is located on New Harbor Hill (off of Route 130) which provides snacks, hardware, and all the fishing poles and supplies needed for a day on the water.

THE SEA GULL SHOP is located next to the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse with Maine
gifts for all, including Pemaquid Point memorabilia, jewelry, and pottery. Their

PEMAQUID CRAFT CO-OP on New Harbor Hill has a selection of hand made
treasures which are a must see. They have items including Christmas and Halloween
decorations and handmade infant sweaters. Their 15 rooms are a treat to be seen by all.
THE WALPOLE BARN is located at 135 State Route 129 in Walpole. They have an array of wines, fresh oysters, and unique gifts. They are open daily 10a-6p. They can be reached at 207-563-7050 or on their website www.walpolebarn.com. They are adjacent to the historical Walpole Meeting House.
OUT TO EAT!
FISH AND LOBSTER WHARF is the place to be. The menu offers many
seafood choices, steaks, and simple burgers on the casual side. The wharf has live
lobsters which may be hand selected and children are always welcome to come into the
Lobster Room” to look at and touch the live lobsters. The “Raw Bar” is a full outdoors
bar where most enjoy evening cocktails, but may enjoy appetizers or dinner in the relaxed
environment. Their hours are 11a-9p daily. The “Raw Bar” is open 2p to closing daily,

THE HARBOR ROOM restaurant and bar offers an expansive menu and specials. They can be reached at 207-677-0178 or www.theharborroomrestaurant.com. Reservations are recommended and are available online.
THE CONTENTED SOLE – Come by boat, come by car! Dockside dining with fresh
local seafood cuisine and incredible homemade pizza. Open daily for lunch and dinner 1130a-9p. Located near Fort William Henry at Colonial Pemaquid. THE ANCHOR restaurant and bar overlooking Round Pond Harbor offers casual dining and incredible views. Information and menu is available at www.theanchorrestaurant.com or 207-529-2600. Dinner reservations are recommended. They will be opening in June 2021.
BRADLEY INN located on the tip of the peninsula, will provide you with an
elegant “parents night out”. They offer hors d’oeuvres, fine cuisine, and decadent

THE CUPBOARD CAFE is known to be New Harbor’s finest! Located on the Huddle
Road, they are known all over the area for outstanding breakfasts and lunches.
Everything The Cupboard serves is baked on the premises utilizing Fred and Claudia’s

HARBOR ICE CREAM on the green in New Harbor Center featuring Gifford’s home
made ice cream with lots of uniquely Maine flavors such as, Moose Tracks, Deer Tracks,

THE SEA GULL SHOP is located next to the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and serves

COVESIDE RESTAURANT & MARINA located on at 98 Coveside Road in South
Bristol. Fine Dining overlooking Christmas Cove or a burger from the pub menu. They
offer Friday and Saturday night entertainment in the Pub and “On the deck” on Sunday

RISING TIDE is the local food co-op located at 323 Main Street in Damariscotta. They provide local grown, organic, and free-range foods. THE WEATHERBIRD is the areas “trendy” gourmet shop, fancy cheeses, pâtés, wines

RENY’S is the place to go for anything that you have forgotten. There are two stores on
Main Street in Damariscotta. Reny’s Main Store has clothing (including LL Bean,
Columbia, and Land’s End seconds). Reny’s Underground carries toys, shoes, household
items, some groceries and just about anything you may need to make your vacation more like home. www.renys.com
CLARK'S FARM is located on Business Route One in Damariscotta. They offer

The Rachel Carson Salt Pond located on State Route 32.
The Hardy Boat (leaves from Shaw’s Wharf) offers boat trips to Mohegan Island, Puffin
Sightings, Whale Watches, and Sunset Cruises by the Lighthouse. Reservations are

The Darling Center is cooperatively owned by the University of Maine. They have
marine studies, good hiking trails, and touch tanks with marine life. The Darling Center

Dodge Point offers hiking trails. It is located off of River Road in Newcastle. The
Tracey Preserve and Plummer Point Preserve, both located on Route 129 in South Bristol.
LaVerna Preserve hiking trails and breathtaking ocean views. Located on Route 32 in Chamberlain.
Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust offers many events and activities, hiking trails, and information at several locations. www.coastalrivers.org
CLC – Central Lincoln County YMCA houses basketball courts, tennis courts, squash,
racquetball, exercise rooms and daily athletic programs in addition to its playground. The

The Thompson Ice House Museum is located on Route 129 in South Bristol. In July they
have an annual ice cream social.

experienced just on the outskirts of our small community.
